Bethany Porter

Master’s Level Counseling Intern

One reason I decided to pursue my degree in Counseling is because I love hearing people’s stories. This curiosity was, in part, cultivated while living cross-culturally in the Middle East. I had the opportunity to be part of an international community and learn about several different cultures. Despite the many disparities, I noticed a common thread across all peoples: we all need and desire connection. When connected, we feel stable, motivated, and like we belong.

Unfortunately, this is not the norm for many of us. We often live a completely opposite existence - one of disconnection. You may feel like your world is nothing but fragmented and disorienting. This is where therapy can help. I consider it an honor to walk alongside men and women as they begin to take courageous steps towards connection. Therapy is no quick fix, but rather a space to be seen and listened to without a need to perform or impress. Using proven interventions and skills, I aim to provide insightful and compassion-filled care. Together, we can begin to sift through your story and imagine a way forward - a path towards healing, restoration, and wholeness.
