Susy Newman, MA, LPC, NCC
Lead Therapist
Couples and EMDR Therapist
When you flourish in your unique design, you experience greater fulfillment in your personal identity and interpersonal relationships. Witnessing this is my greatest hope and joy.
By actively engaging in the counseling process, you'll become empowered with insight and skills that will help you face life's challenges. No matter where in Colorado you live, I'm available to work with you, delivering cutting-edge trauma therapy via video sessions.
My areas of focus include betrayal trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, boundaries, relationships, and spiritual issues. I'm also trained in EMDR, which is an evidence-based resource to help process unresolved trauma in more adaptive ways.
My hobbies are gardening and pottery, which I view as metaphors for the counseling process: Both involve messiness, gentleness, patience, and encouraging potential for change and growth! My husband and I have been married since 1988 and we have two adult children, a son-in law, and two grandchildren.
Susy Newman is a senior counselor, couples, and EMDR therapist at Green Mountain Counseling. She's worked in private practice and residential community mental health settings, and has done chaplaincy work at a nursing home.
