Tara Farrell
Master’s Level Counseling Intern
You are the expert of your own life. Beginning therapy is a big step toward taking control when we feel completely overwhelmed and out of control. So many hardships in life make us feel trapped, helpless, powerless, and without a voice. But you can be your best advocate and biggest ally. I believe my role as a counselor is to hear your story, move through the hardest parts of it with you, and help you rediscover your strengths, joys, and desires in life so you can pursue them again.
While I work with many different kinds of clients and experiences, I have a passion for the healing of spiritual abuse and religious trauma. I spent my late adolescent and young adult years in a high-control religious environment that left me feeling trapped, powerless, and devastatingly insecure. Years after breaking free, I have discovered the power of self-acceptance, confidence in decision-making, and setting healthy boundaries to pursue a life I actually enjoy. This sparked my desire to become a licensed counselor and I am passionate about helping my clients do the same.
